The Science, Technology, Development Funding authority has activated the funding of a new research project number (45945), led by the Principal Investigator: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Omer Alkelany, Director of the Center of International Projects and Scholarships at Horus University- Egypt, and the Vice Dean of Graduate Studies, research, and community service, Faculty of Engineering at Horus University-Egypt. The research project is entitled: “Experiential Learning in Computer Engineering; Using the low-cost computing technology of the Field Programmable Gate Array devices.”

The research team will utilize the experiential learning technique via the FPGA boards technology, to develop multiple, portable lab experiences, at different levels to be used in multiple courses related to computer and logic design. Those innovative experiences will be used in education for the first time at Horus University-Egypt, at the faculty of Engineering.
