Civil Engineering Program

Consistency of the PEOs with the Institutional Mission

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the Civil Engineering – General Civil Program are fully aligned with the mission of Horus University and the Faculty of Engineering. The institutional mission emphasizes knowledge development, research excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, societal engagement, ethical responsibility, and the preparation of graduates capable of contributing to national and global development within a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

This alignment is clearly demonstrated through the structure and intent of the PEOs. The Professional Competence objective supports the university’s commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and preparing highly qualified engineers capable of applying civil engineering principles, modern tools, and interdisciplinary approaches to design, analyze, and implement sustainable infrastructure systems that meet societal and industrial needs.

The Innovation and Lifelong Learning objective directly reflects the institutional focus on research excellence, innovation, and continuous intellectual development. It encourages graduates to engage in lifelong learning, adapt to emerging technologies, and pursue advanced studies, certifications, and professional development to remain competitive and responsive to evolving engineering challenges.

The Leadership and Teamwork objective aligns with the institutional emphasis on preparing graduates with strong technical foundations and professional competencies in structural, transportation, environmental, geotechnical, and construction engineering, enabling them to assume leadership roles in engineering practice and project execution.

The Ethical and Societal Responsibility objective aligns with the university’s emphasis on ethical responsibility, community engagement, and sustainable development. It ensures that graduates uphold professional ethics and actively contribute to addressing critical societal challenges such as sustainability, safety, and resilience in infrastructure development.

Accordingly, the PEOs are fully consistent with Horus University’s strategic direction, community responsibility, innovation-driven vision, and commitment to sustainable development. This consistency is further clarified in Table 2.1.

Table 2.1: Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) – Civil Engineering – General Civil Program

# Program Educational Objectives Measurement
