Consistency of the PEOs with the Institutional Mission
The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of Mechanical Engineering – Mechatronics Program are fully aligned with the mission of Horus University and the Faculty of Engineering. The institutional mission emphasizes knowledge development, research excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, societal engagement, ethical responsibility, and the preparation of graduates capable of contributing to national and global development within a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
This alignment is clearly demonstrated through the structure and intent of the PEOs. The Professional Competence objective supports the university’s commitment to preparing graduates with strong interdisciplinary competencies in mechanical, electrical, and computational engineering. This enables them to design, integrate, and optimize intelligent mechatronic systems and excel in mechatronics-related fields within industry and engineering practice.
The Innovation and Lifelong Learning objective directly reflects the university’s strategic focus on research, digital transformation, and technological advancement. It encourages graduates to pursue continuous learning and professional growth through advanced studies, research activities, professional certifications, and active engagement in innovation areas such as robotics, automation, and smart manufacturing systems.
The Leadership and Teamwork objective aligns with the institutional emphasis on developing professional skills, teamwork, and effective communication. It ensures that graduates demonstrate leadership capabilities, collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, manage engineering projects, and contribute positively to professional and organizational environments.
The Ethical and Societal Impact objective aligns with the university’s emphasis on ethical responsibility, citizenship values, and societal engagement. It ensures that graduates practice engineering responsibly while considering environmental, societal, and global impacts, contributing to sustainable development and community advancement.
Accordingly, the PEOs are fully consistent with Horus University’s strategic direction, community responsibility, innovation-driven vision, and commitment to sustainable development and technological advancement. This consistency is further clarified in Table 2.1.
