As part of the Faculty of Engineering – Horus University (Egypt) commitment to enhancing the educational process and linking academic knowledge with practical field applications, a field visit was organized to Shoman Factory in New Damietta Industrial Zone, marking the conclusion of the training course on CNC mechanics and modern machining techniques. The visit included tours of several departments:
• Conventional machining
• CNC Machines
• Quality control
• Assembly
• Electricity & PLC
During the visit, engineers – graduates of the Mechatronics Department, Faculty of Engineering, Horus University – currently employed in different sections of the company, guided the students and provided insights into the industrial and practical aspects, strengthening the link between theory and practice.
